Granulosa cell

Granulosa cells (from the Latin granum " grain "; " granule cells " ) are epithelial cells in ovarian follicles. You are in the multilayer granule cell layer (stratum granulosum ) and develop under the influence of gonadotropins in the follicular development of the follicular epithelial cells of the Primärfollikels, which thus becomes the secondary follicles. In tertiary follicles mature they form the inner layer of the follicle wall and grow to " Eihügel " (cumulus oophorus ) approach, adhere to the egg. Granulosa cells secreting the fluid that fills the follicle. After ovulation the ovum is surrounded by a layer of granulosa cells, which is referred to as the corona radiata and the zona pellucida is applied. The remaining in ovarian granulosa cells store lipids a ( luteinization ) and become the granulosa of the corpus luteum ( corpus luteum ). Further result in the granulosa cells, through the action of the aromatase, an androgenic precursors of the estrogens.
