Grapevine is a city in Tarrant County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located about 30 km northeast of Fort Worth, in the extreme northeastern corner of the county, in the central north east Texas, about 90 miles from Oklahoma to the north away and has a total area of 92.9 km ², of which 9.3 km ² water surface is.

Demographics

According to the census of 2000, there were 42 059 people in 15 712 households, and 11,312 families. The population density was 503.1 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 88.16 % White, 2.38 % African American, 0.55 % Native American, 2.56 % Asian, 0.07 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 4.58 % from other ethnic groups. Approximately 1.69% were of mixed descent, and 11.56% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 15 712 households 42.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 58.9 % were married couples living together. 9.4 % had a female householder with no husband, and 28.0% were non-families. 22.2 % of all households were single-person households and 3.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size amounted to 3.14.

29.2% of the population were under 18 years old, 7.5 % from 18 to 24, 36.6 % 25-44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 4.8 % who were 65 years or older. The average age was 34 years. For every 100 females of all ages were 100.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, 99.4 males.

The median income for a household was $ 71,680, and the median income for a family $ 84,940. Males have a median income of $ 53,786 versus $ 38,844 for females. The per capita income was $ 31,549. 4.8 % of the population and 3.1% of families are below the poverty line. Of which 4.7 % have children under the age of 18 and 7.2% of those 65 or older.
