Grasleben (Samtgemeinde)

The Samtgemeinde Grasleben is an administrative community with about 5000 inhabitants in the district of Helmstedt, Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

Geography

The topography of the velvet municipality is situated on the Lappwald. The county town of Helmstedt, which is just about 9 km from the county seat Grasleben, bordered to the south of the integrated municipality. Furthermore, the Municipality is bordered to the south by the Municipality North Elm, on the west by the city Konigslutter and to the north by the Municipality Velpke. In the east, the city Oebisfelde - Weferlingen of the county adjacent to flare. The eastern border Samtgemeinde is also the border with Saxony -Anhalt. Until the German reunification in 1990, this was the same time the so-called Inner German border.

To Samtgemeinde include the communities Mariental, Querenhorst and Rennau and grass life where it has its headquarters.

The 15.81 km ² large and uninhabited unincorporated territory of the Municipality of Mariental separates into two non-contiguous parts: Rennau and Mariental in the southwest as well as the other two member communities in the Northeast.

History

The integrated municipality was formed in 1974 as part of local government reform.

Policy

The Samtgemeinderat is made up of 14 women council and councilors

  • SPD 6 seats
  • Green 1 seat
  • Independently of one seat ( has withdrawn after the municipal election of the CDU faction )

The SPD group together with the Greens and the independent councilor who SPD-Bündnis90/DieGrünen-Gruppe in Samtgemeindrat Grasleben, which succeeded as the new council majority, the CDU after 37 years.
