Grasshopper (Cocktail)

Grasshopper is a sweet, alcoholic cocktail with mint flavor. It is led by the International Bartenders Association in the category after-dinner cocktail.

The Grasshopper consists of crème de menthe, crème de cacao and cream. Instead of cream and milk and vanilla ice cream is made. The ingredients are mixed in a cocktail shaker with crushed ice ( crushed ice ) and served in a cocktail glass. Because of its green color, it is very popular in the U.S., especially on St. Patrick 's Day.

Original recipe

The Grasshopper was reportedly filed by Philibert Guichet, the owner of Tujaque 's Bar in New Orleans invented in a New York cocktail competition. This happened just before the alcohol ban came into force.

It consists of 6 cl cream, 3 cl white creme de cacao and 3 cl green creme de menthe. All the ingredients are well shaken in a shaker with ice and poured into a cocktail glass. He has about 340 kcal, 12% alcohol and costs about 1.20 euros in the production (ingredients ).

In the official IBA variant, it is prepared with only 3 cl of cream.
