Gravesham

Gravesham is a Borough (administrative district ) in the northwestern part of Kent, England east of Greater London. It lies on the southern bank of the River Thames opposite Tilbury ( Essex ). In the district live about 95,000 inhabitants, of which 8-9 % Asian. The area is 99.02 km ². The office is located in Gravesend, in its current form, the district has a local government reform in 1974.

Within the framework of twinning Gravesham is twinned since 1980 with Neumünster.

Economy

As in many other regions of the industrialized countries, a massive transformation from a manufacturing industry has also taken place in Gravesham to services, this is the current unemployment rate of about 2.8 % below the UK average of just under 4 % while average incomes are, however, also below the national average.
