The slaty- Lemur ( Lepilemur dorsalis) is a living primate in Madagascar from the group of lemurs within the lemurs.

Features

Slaty- lemurs include a body length 21-24 cm, a tail length of about 28 centimeters and a weight of around 0.7 kg of the smaller members of the lemurs. Their fur is gray brown on the top, on the back runs a conspicuous, dark brown dorsal stripe. The belly and throat are light gray. The rounded head is colored gray, the eyes are large and face relatively dark.

Distribution and habitat

Slaty- lemurs come only in the region of the river Sambirano ago in north-western Madagascar. Since the discovery of new lemur species in northwestern Madagascar its exact area of ​​distribution is unclear. Their habitat is moist woods.

Way of life

Like all lemurs are nocturnal and arboreal. They spend the day in tree hollows or in the dense thicket plants and embark at dusk in search of food. Their diet consists of leaves, fruits, flowers and bark occasionally.

Endangering
