Grayslake is a municipality ( with a status of "Village" ) in Lake County in the north east of the U.S. state of Illinois and a suburb of Chicago with more than 20,000 inhabitants.

In 1840 the settlers William F. Gray has settled here, in 1886 the railway station was built in 1895 founded the city.

The rock band Chevelle comes from Grayslake. From 1984 to 1990 found here the first of the Christian rock music instead of Cornerstone Festival.
