Great Baikal Trail

The Great Baikal Trail ( Большая Байкальская Тропа Bolschaja baikalskaya Tropa ) is a long distance hiking trail around Lake Baikal in Siberia (Russia). Since 2003 is built on a voluntary basis the way, the idea dates from the 1970s. Was initially planned to create an 1800 km long hiking trail to the international road construction standard, and is also built on an approximately 2100 km network of trails. One expects a positive effect on the regional infrastructure and environmental protection. The Great Baikal Trail is not yet completed, but it may already first sections are used, the 100 km long Frolikha Adventure Coastline Track. Every year there are up to 25 work camps, during which volunteers from all over the world continue to build on the way.
