The Great Central Road is a largely unpaved outback dirt road in the center and east of the Australian state of Western Australia and in the south west of the adjacent Northern Territory. It connects the town of Laverton in Western Australia with the Lasseter Highway in Kata Tjuta in the Northern Territory at Uluru (Ayers Rock). It is the most direct link between Perth and Central Australia.

The Great Central Road is having its entire length part of the Outback Highway, which runs 2800 km through the center of Australia.

Course

Western Australia

Laverton leaves the Great Central Road northeast. About 20 km from the town there is a control station for food.
