Great Ethiopian Run

The Great Ethiopian Run is a folk and road race in Addis Ababa, held since 2001. The as part of the Great Run series of Nova International, launched race is being organized by the NGO Great Ethiopian Run, whose chairman is Haile Gebrselassie, and with more than 30,000 participants, the largest running sporting event in Ethiopia.

Due to the location of Addis Ababa at 2355 m altitude, the times are not quite as fast as they are earned by the participating athletes at lower elevations courses.
