Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (Polish Wielka Orkiestra Christmas Charity, WOŚP ) is a large non-governmental charity organization in Poland. It was founded by Jerzy Owsiak, Lidia Niedźwiedzka - Owsiak, Bohdan Maruszewski and Piotr Burczyński 1993.

Every first or second Sunday of the new year begins, the orchestra, the grand finale of his action. The whole day collecting more than 120,000 volunteers across the country money for the medical care of Polish children. All the people who have donated money to get, thanks to a big red heart (sticker). Until the 16th finals of the Orchestra $ 93,374,926.94 was collected. For 2010 final over 36 million zloty were taken.

The cash collection takes place at the Polish emigrants in various locations abroad.

The orchestra also organizes every year in August, the rock festival Woodstock Stop, to thank all people who helped with the finale of the orchestra.
