Greater Vancouver Electoral Area A

The Greater Vancouver Electoral Area A ( dt constituency in Greater Vancouver A ) lies in the southwest of the Canadian province of British Columbia. It includes several unincorporated areas of the Metro Vancouver region. These include the University of British Columbia and the University Endowment Lands ( Stiftungsland University ) west of the city of Vancouver, the islands Bowyer Iceland, Passage Iceland and Barnston Iceland in the Fraser River, the western shore of Pitt Lake, the northern part of the fjord, Indian Arm and the sparsely populated mountain regions in the North Shore Mountains.

Are administered these areas by a Director, who belongs to the Regional Council and is elected for a term of three years. The Council takes the role of a local parliament for these areas.

Demography

The census in 2011 showed a population of 13,035 inhabitants for the area. The population has thereby increased since the census of 2006 at 18.0%, while the population grew only by 7.0 % at the same time throughout the Province of British Columbia.
