Greatest Hits (English for " Greatest Hits" ) is a best-of album from the U.S. alternative rock band blink- 182. It was published on 1 November 2005 on the label Geffen Records.

Content

The songs contained on the album are mostly previously released singles from the five published up to that time studio albums Cheshire Cat (two songs), Dude Ranch ( two songs ), Enema of the State ( three tracks ), Take Off Your Pants and Jacket ( three pieces ) and blink-182 ( four items). Only the songs Not Now, Another Girl Another Planet and Aliens Exist (Live in LA) are new releases. In addition, the track Man Overboard from the live album The Mark, Tom and Travis Show (The Enema Strikes Back! ) Is included.

Production

The majority of the album (twelve songs) were produced by the late 2008 Music producer Jerry Finn. The two productions come from the producers O and Mark Trombino. The band blink-182 self-produced with Another Girl Another Planet just one piece.

Cover design

The album cover is kept quite simple. It shows the band's logo in gray - a smiling smiley, whose eyes are crosses and surrounded by a circle in which there are five left-pointing arrows. At the top of the image, the tape lettering blink- 182 and below is the picture of the title Greatest Hits in gray. The background is kept black.

Chart successes and single

The best-of- album entered the German charts at # 26 and held for ten weeks in the Top 100 in the U.S., the album peaked at rank 6 and left the charts after 20 weeks.

As a single, the song Not Now was disengaged. The song reached position 30 in the UK and stayed two weeks in the charts.

Sales and award

For more than 300,000 copies sold Greatest Hits Award in the United Kingdom in 2006 with a gold record.
