The Ethniki Odos 20/Εθνική Οδός 20 (Greek for National road 20 ' ) is an important road link in northwestern Greece. It connects the city of Ioannina in Epirus region with the city of Kozani in the region of West Macedonia and is the only efficient road link between the two regions and between Epirus and Central Macedonia, in particular its capital Thessaloniki.
Course
The course leads arc of Ioannina initially in a northerly direction through the plane of Ioannina until after Kalpaki where the National Road 22 ( European Route 853 ) branches off to the west to Albania. After Kalpaki the National Road 20 is pivoted to the northeast and first leads through the valley of the River Aoös Konitsa at the foot of the mountains and Gamila Smolikas the Pindos Mountains. From Konitsa from the National Highway 20 continues curvaceous to the northeast on the western edge of the Smolikas by the Pindus mountain range until after Pirsogiani. In Pirsogiani the course of the road turns east and continues through the mountain ranges of the Pindos mountain range until after Pentalofos. The visit of Pentalofos Paßanstieg leads the national road 20 via Tsotili after Neapolis in the valley of the Aliakmona. From there, the road swings to the southeast and runs along the Aliakmona Valley after Siatista. In Siatista the national road 20 changes its direction to the northeast and leads on the south side of the massif Askio to Kozani, where it ends.

The entire course of National Road 20 is congruent with the European Route 90; However, the European Route 90 is taken 2 (A2) of this with the completion of the highway. In addition to the nominal acquisition of the European Route 90 and the main traffic between the centers of Kozani and Ioannina will switch to the Highway 2, since the routing and extension status represents a significant traffic relief against the scenic, but very winding and steep -rich stretch of the National Road 20.
