Features

The two-color Fischer reached a total length of 24 cm and a weight of 46-60 g upper hand, the bird colored shimmering dark green and turn brown. The wings have, especially in the female, a fine white dashes on. Only the female has a broad green - white breast band.

Occurrence

The distribution area extends from southeastern Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama to the Gulf of Guayaquil and east of the Andes over northern South America to the Atlantic coast of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. The two-color Fischer comes from sea level before up to an altitude of 400 m. He is a resident of dense forests on running water, swamp forests and mangroves.

Behavior

The two-color fishing hunting from a tree branch from the water for prey. The diet consists of up to 12 cm long fish and shrimp.

Reproduction
