Greenair

Greenair was a Turkish charter airline. In 1994 the company was renamed to Active Air. The adjustment of flight operations took place in 1996.

History

Greenair was founded in 1990 as a joint venture of Turkish investors and the Russian state airline Aeroflot. Main shareholders were the Turkish businessman Ali Şen, who also worked as president of the football club Fenerbahçe Istanbul and took over the management of greenair, as well as the resident at the airport Vnukovo corporate department of Aeroflot, which held a 49 percent stake. The operation was launched on April 19, 1990 with a charter flight from Istanbul to Nuremberg. Initially, put the company a three machines of the Tupolev Tu -154, which had been taken over by the Aeroflot. Two aircraft of the Tupolev Tu-134 supplemented as of October 1990, the fleet. As a result of restructuring in the Russian aviation sector Aeroflot joined their stakes in 1993 from the Vnukovo Airlines. On April 1, 1994, the company was renamed to Active Air. Due to the low utilization of the aircraft, the Company closed its operations in 1996.
