Greenwheels

The Greenwheels GmbH is a car sharing provider, which was initially founded in 1988 in Berlin as StattAuto Carsharing GbR and then as a limited company by Markus Petersen as CEO. Thus, it was the first car sharing company in Germany and the inventor of the name instead of the car, which was used in several cities. In the early 1990s, his brother Carsten Petersen increased the managing director of the company, which initially worked only in Berlin. Meanwhile, Green Wheels is represented in 22 German cities with 270 own vehicles (as of September 2012). When carsharing test of Stiftung Warentest Greenwheels belonged with the grade " good" (1.8 ) to the test winners.

History

1994 was founded in Hamburg in the StattAuto Hamburger Carsharing GmbH Bernd Kremer and Stefan Wendt - Reese, 1998 with the Berlin GmbH StattAuto Carsharing AG, the first car-sharing provider in Germany merged as a public company.

Bernd Kremer (1998-1999), Stefan Wendt Reese (1998-1999) and Carsten Petersen (1998-2001) were the first board members of the StattAuto Carsharing AG. Markus Petersen was Chairman until 1999 and then joined the board. After 2001, there were changing boards.

In 2000, the company came after an investigation begun in 1999 investment strategy in a strong financial crisis that was averted by the renunciation of customers on their deposits and participation of numerous German carsharing providers through the shareway AG. Since the end of December 2005, the StattAuto Carsharing AG owns 100 % of the CollectCar BV. In March 2006, the Berlin subsidiary was renamed Greenwheels AG. In April 2013 it was announced that a consortium consisting of Volkswagen Financial Services AG (60 %) and the Dutch VW importer and provider of mobility services Pon Holdings BV (40 %) shares in an undisclosed amount to the CollectCar BV has acquired.

StattAuto Berlin e.V.

On the history of the Berlin GmbH and StattAuto Carsharing AG also the StattAuto Berlin is eV, an association which should ensure the contact between company and customers and shareholders, and was initiated by Mark and Carsten Petersen. The function was ensured by the Supervisory Board together with the Hamburg club in the AG. In 2006, the club went to the Traffic Club Germany on (VCD), he dedicated this framework to general transport policy issues.

StattAuto Hamburg e.V.

The car-sharing operation in 1991 eV of StattAuto Hamburg launched in Hamburg.
