Greenwood County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Eureka.

Geography

The County is located in the central south-east of Kansas, is located in the south about 70 km from Oklahoma and has an area of ​​2985 square kilometers, of which 33 square kilometers are water surface. History

Greenwood County was formed on 25 August 1855, one of the first 33 counties that were formed by the first territorial administration. It was named after Alfred B. Greenwood, a U.S. Commissioner of Indian Affairs.
