Greg Best

Gregory Alan " Greg" Best ( born July 23, 1964 in Lynchburg (Virginia)) is an American show jumper and trainer who lives in Otane, New Zealand.

Career

In 1984 he won the North American Championships for Young Riders. In 1985, he won the USET Talent Derby. In 1987 he won the Grand Prix of Florida and Tampa, as well as team silver medal at the Pan American Games in Indianapolis. At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 he won the silver medal in both the individual, as well as with the team. Between 1987 and 2003 he won six World Cup competitions. During a fall in 1992, he broke his shoulder. After this had healed, he moved to New Zealand. In 2004 he was the New Zealand coach at the Olympic Games in Athens.

He now works as a trainer in the U.S., Canada and New Zealand.
