Greg Ganske

John Greg Ganske (born 31 March 1949 in New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa) is an American politician. Between 1995 and 2003 he represented the state of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Greg Ganske studied until 1972 at the University of Iowa political science. Subsequently, he studied until 1976 at the same university medicine. In the following years he worked as a plastic surgeon. From 1986 to 2001 he was also a military surgeon in the reserve of the U.S. Army and conducted a farm.

Politically, Ganske joined the Republican Party. In the congressional elections in 1994, he was in the fourth district of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC selected. There he stepped on 3 January 1995, the successor of Neal Edward Smith of the Democratic Party, he had beaten in the election. After three elections Ganske could implement his mandate in Congress until January 3, 2003.

In 2002, he opted not to run again for the U.S. House of Representatives. Instead, he ran unsuccessfully against Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate. Greg Ganske is married to Corrine Mikkelson and now lives in Des Moines.
