Greg Mauldin

Gregory " Greg" Mauldin ( born June 10, 1982 in Holliston, Massachusetts) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since July 2012 in Fribourg- Gottéron from the Swiss National League A under contract.

Career

Greg Mauldin played in his youth from 1999 to 2001 for the Boston Junior Bruins of the Eastern Junior Hockey League, where he was appointed in his two seasons in the EJHL All-Star team. In addition, he was appointed in 2001 to the most valuable player of the EJHL. Following his final junior season Mauldin attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and played from then on for the University of team Minutemen in the College and University Sports League Hockey East. NHL Entry Draft 2002, the striker was selected in the seventh round in a total of 199 position of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In the 2003 /04 season Mauldin came to six inserts in the National Hockey League for Columbus as well as two games for the farm team of the Blue Jackets, the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League. Mauldin spent the entire 2004/05 season in the AHL, and in the following season, he came to no use for Columbus in the NHL before he was transferred shortly before the end of the transfer window this season on the Minnesota Wild, the Blue Jackets in return received the defender Dustin Wood. However, he did not come for the game to use but still graduated eleven AHL inserts for the farm team in Minnesota, the Houston Aeros.

In September 2006, Mauldin received an invitation in the pre-season training camp of the St. Louis Blues, but could not prevail there. He completed two season games for Bloomington PrairieThunder of the United Hockey League before signing a contract with Huddinge IK in Sweden's second highest league HockeyAllsvenskan. In Huddinge but the player completed only six games. On 23 October 2006 Mauldin signed a contract with league rival IK Oskarshamn, where he still spent the rest of the season.

At the start of the AHL season 2007/ 08 signed the winger a one-year contract with the Binghamton Senators. After this season, he offered parents Binghamtons Team Ottawa Senators a further one-year contract, he did not come into this season but for Ottawa used but also spent the 2008/09 season in the American Hockey League. On July 6, 2009 Greg Mauldin signed a one-year contract with the NHL's New York Islanders, for he is a game for the Islanders completed in the 2009/10 NHL season; the rest of the season he spent at their farm team, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL where he had 54 points in 77 games most successful scorer of the team.

On July 2, 2010 Greg Mauldin signed a contract with the Colorado Avalanche, but the start of the season the player spent the AHL farm team of the Avalanche, Lake Erie Monsters. His first game in the National Hockey League for Colorado had the striker on 12 November 2010 in a match against his old club Draft Columbus Blue Jackets, where he also, scored the first NHL goal of his career during a shorthanded situation. After a few more NHL inserts in the 2010/11 season Mauldin was sent back to the Lake Erie Monsters.

On July 23, 2012, the Swiss National League A- Club Fribourg- Gottéron committed the U.S. striker for a first season. The agreement with Fribourg- Gottéron was subsequently extended in mid-November of the same year by 2 more years.
