Gregory Maguire

Gregory Maguire ( born June 9, 1954 in Albany, New York) is an American writer.

Life

Gregory Maguire received his doctorate from Tufts University in English and American literature, it has also been bestowed on him by the University at Albany, the degree of Bachelor of Arts. From 1979 to 1985 he was professor and vice -director of the Simmons College Center for the Study of Children's Literature. In addition, Maguire was a co-founder of the organization " Children's Literature New England ."

Gregory Maguire has three adopted children and is married. He is a board member of the nonprofit " National Children's Book and Literacy Alliance ", which advocates for education, literature and libraries.

Some of his novels are based on well-known, classic children's stories and are intended for adult readers. Wicked - The Witches of Oz The true story of the evil Witch of the West ( Orig.
