Grenoble Foot 38

Grenoble Foot 38 is a French football club based in Grenoble, the capital of eastern France Isère (atomic number 38 ), located at the foot of the Savoy Alps in the Dauphiné.

History

It was founded in 1917 as a division of the Rugby Association Football Club de Grenoble. This was the name of the club until 1977, he was first called FC AS de Grenoble (until 1984 ), followed by FC de Grenoble Dauphine (until 1990 ). Then led two bankruptcies (1990, 1997) and several mergers to a flood of name changes ( 5 new names within 7 years ): Football Club de Grenoble Isere, Football Club de Grenoble Jojo Isere, Olympique Grenoble Isère, Sporting Club de Grenoble and finally, since 1997 the present name.

In 2004, the Japanese company Index Holdings acquired 99.42 % stake in the club.

The club color is blue; league team plays at the Stade des Alpes, which has a capacity of 20,000 seats and in February 2008 the Stade Lesdiguières replaced as a venue.

Club president was (up to the insolvency) Kazutoshi Watanabe, the first team was coached by Yvon Pouliquen, who replaced during the 2010/11 season "Mecha " Baždarević.

In summer 2011, the club was liquidated before a court of competent jurisdiction because of its indebtedness; the start-up delay was a result that Grenoble had to do a fresh start in the amateur; 2013/14 plays the first team in the fourth division.

League membership

Professional status had Grenoble 1942-1946, 1951-1971 and again from 2001 to 2011. First class (Division 1 since 2002 in Ligue 1 renamed) played the club 1942/43, 1960/61, 1962/63 and 2008 to 2010.
