Career

The beauty queen Greta Thyssen moved in the early 1950s from Copenhagen to Los Angeles to work as a fashion model and actress. Following the success of Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield, the formerly brunette model now appeared as a platinum blonde, curvaceous bombshell in appearance and posed as a pin -up girl successfully for numerous photo 's and men's magazines. Thyssen debuted in 1956 in a minor supporting role in the feature film Bus Stop, where she also acted as a double for the lead actress Marilyn Monroe. 1958 was the glamor girl to see twice in the short films of the Three Stooges in 1959 and turned another film with the comedy troupe. Thyssen joined in the play Pajama Tops also on Broadway, and made her romance with the movie star Cary Grant headlines in the tabloids. In 1967 she had her last film role in Cottonpickin 'Chicken Pickers and retired after the birth of her daughter Genevieve Juliette back in 1969 largely into private life. Greta Thyssen lives in New York.
