Grete Rosenberg

Grete Rosenberg ( born October 7, 1896 in Hanover; † 5 February 1979 in Hildesheim, Germany ) was a German swimmer.

Career

Grete Rosenberg of Hannover 92 at the age of 15 years took part in the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 and peaked in both competitions advertised for women the final. About 100 meters freestyle she finished fourth and was two-tenths of a second behind third-placed Briton Jennie Fletcher. The German 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay in the cast Waltraud Dressel, Louise Otto, Hermione Stindt and Grete Rosenberg reached 11.8 seconds after the British Olympic champions the goal, but was 12.4 seconds ahead of third-placed Austrians.

1913 won Grete Rosenberg their first German championship title on the 100 - meter freestyle track. After two years of wartime interruption, she won from 1916 to 1922, seven other titles in a row.
