Gretha Smit

Gretha Smit ( born January 20, 1976 in Rouveen ) is a Dutch speed skater.

Her breakthrough achieved in the elfstedentocht 1997, when it ranked behind two Klasina Seinstra.

During the Olympic Games in 2002 in Salt Lake City, she won over 5000 meters silver medal. The then following years 2003 and 2004 were at the same time their most successful. In 2003 she finished 3rd at the World Championships over 3000 meters and 5000 meters respectively. A year later, it reached over the same routes then in each case to the silver medal.

To this end, they still won four Dutch championships.
