History

As part of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg, which belonged to the Frankish Empire Circle from 1500, Grettstadt was secularized in 1803 in Bavaria's favor, then leave in the Peace of Pressburg in 1805, Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg, with which it finally fell back to Bavaria in 1814. Culture and sights

Before the Town Hall is a 440 -year-old dance lime tree. Its peculiarity consists in the tiered crown section, which made it possible to establish a chapel on the first floor, including danced. Among other things, the lime was also used as a court tree ( gallows ) on which malefactors were hanged.
