The Office Grevesmühlen - Land is located in the center of the district of North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ).

In this office eleven municipalities have joined forces to do their administrative business. The Office Grevesmühlen land forms since 1 January 2004 an administrative community with the town of Greve mills with simultaneous transfer of the functions of the transferred sphere of activity of the Office of the city. For office originally belonged to 13 municipalities: municipalities Gägelow and Barnekow were on 1 January 2005 after several years in office Gägelow in the Office of Mecklenburg- bath small incorporated. The former municipalities Testorf and Stone Fort merged on 1 January 1999 the municipality Testorf Stone Fort. On 1 April 2005 the parish Gägelow came back to the office. The municipality Hans Hagen was incorporated into Upahl on 1 January 2011. On January 1, 2014, the municipality Papenhusen came into the office.

The office area encloses almost the town of Greve mills, it lies between the Hanseatic cities of Lübeck and Wismar. No place in the office is further than 20 kilometers from the Baltic Sea coast. Thanks to the southwest of the Office flowing the Stepenitz. The area is predominantly agricultural; natural environment and its proximity to the Baltic and tourism play an increasingly more important.

Through the Office Grevesmühlen country the Baltic Sea motorway A 20, the parallel federal road lead 105 ( from Wismar to Lübeck ) and the railway line from Lübeck to Rostock.
