Gribow

Gribow is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern. It is administered by the Office Züssow based in Züssow.

Geography and transport

Gribow is located about 18 kilometers southwest of Wolgast and 6 kilometers east of Gützkow. Through the village the main road runs 111 The Federal Highway 20 is accessible via the junction Gützkow 9 kilometers.

History

Gribow

Gribow was not until late 1523 in a document called, though it was a Slavic settlement. Gribow means grip = fungus.

Glödenhof

Glödenhof was already mentioned in a document in 1185 and later as Bubalitz also Balitz. It was a Slavic settlement, meaning bean or peasant without land.

1814 was renamed at the request of Hans Felix Conrad von Gloeden the place with the permission of the government in Gloedenhof. 1863 took over Abraham Friedrich Bunge the estate, he had one of Gloeden wife. After 1945 Glödenhof had the same development as Gribow, but since the 1960s, only a housing development.
