Gridshell

A grid shell is a special roof construction.

The shells consist of lattice meshes in the structural sense, in which many relatively weak, linear members are connected by many compounds, they are located on a lateral surface which surrounds a space. This creates a space frame of a total high strength. The braiding is rarely an literally, but mostly transmitted in quite an abstract way in the large scale. The supporting structure consists mostly of steel. The retention profiles of the discs are manufactured separately from aluminum, which in turn rest on the steel structure.
