Griefer

A Griefer ( engl. grief play " sorrow Game") is a player who is trying to take the other players enjoy the game without directly broke basic rules of the game.

It behaves either play incapacitating, so that he molested many players simultaneously, or fixed to a single player, whom he accompanied. Applied to the real world would be a griefer for example, a football player who deliberately transported out of the ball again and again from the field. Whether and how such articulations are punished, is very strong on the game or gaming operator dependent.

In MMOs griefers try mainly to prevent other players from gaining experience or successfully complete a variety of tasks. For example, they go in game sections where only minor enemies are to be found for their circumstances, which, however, quite a challenge for her team-mates. Now, if a player tries to kill an enemy and so to gain experience, the griefer kills this enemy before.

In FPS games such as Battlefield 2, this is done primarily by players who wish to gain a clear advantage over their opponents, so, for example, the so-called " uncappable bases " ( in German: impregnable bases) besieged by the opposing team or even attacked, but this brings no points due to the impregnability of the base. It can be concluded that the griefers only besiege this base to eliminate as many enemies without much effort (see Spawnkilling ).

In Open-World/Sandkasten-Spielen such as Minecraft is meant by griefers a player that the creature is destroyed by most wanton actions of others.
