Grieskirchen District

The political Grieskirchen is a district in Hausruckviertel in Upper Austria northwest of Wels.

History

The district is the youngest district in Upper Austria and was founded in 1911 ( Reich Law Gazette No. 173/1911 ). For the district of the district leaders Ried entered the judicial district Hague on Hausruckkreis, Schärding the judicial district Peuerbach and catfish from the judicial district of Gries church in the new district. 1923 changed the communities Heiligenberg, Michael Bach, St. Agatha, St. Thomas and Waizenkirchen the abandoned district court of the district Waizenkirchen Eferding the Gries district churches. At the same time the community Geiersberg was ceded by July 26, 1923 to the district Ried. From 1938 to 1948, the territory of the county Eferding was added to the Gries district churches. The communities of the dissolved on 1 January 2003 the district court at the Hague Hausruckkreis were assigned to the judicial district of Gries churches.

Administrative divisions

The Grieskirchen is divided into 34 municipalities, including two cities and 13 municipalities market. The population figures are from 1 January 2013.
