The Griggs County is a county located in the state of North Dakota in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Cooperstown.

Geography

The County is located in east-central North Dakota and has an area of ​​2957 square kilometers, of which 28 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Nelson County, Steele County, Barnes County, Stutsman County, Foster County and Eddy County.

History

Griggs County was formed in 1881. It was named after Alexander Griggs, a steamboat captain and founder of the city of Grand Forks.
