Grigory Sokolov

Grigory Sokolov Lipmanowitsch (Russian Григорий Липманович Соколов, scientific transliteration Grigory Sokolov Lipmanovič; born April 18, 1950 in Leningrad ) is a Russian pianist.

Life

The graduate of the Conservatory of Leningrad became famous by winning the third Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1966. Jury chairman was Emil Gilels.
