Grizedale Forest is a 24 km ² large forest area in the northern English Lake District National Park. It is located south of Hawkshead village between the lakes Coniston Water and Windermere.

The name " Grizedale " is derived from the Old Norse Griss and dalr, transfer the " Wildschweintal " means.

In the area of Grizedale Forest can be found, in contrast to the rest of the Lake District, only lower hills and small lakes (Tarn ). It is managed by the Forestry Commission and is a popular destination of the Lake District. The visitor center of the National Park is located at the site of the 1957 abandoned mansion Grizedale Hall. Besides marked trails and mountain bike trails and a ropes course, there is a youth hostel, a College of the University of Lancaster and a visitor information center.

In the forest there are distributed about 90 sculptures made of usually natural materials such as wood or stone. They are the result of an art project of Grizedale Arts Society, which promotes contemporary British artists such as David Nash, Sally Matthews and Andy Goldsworthy since 1977. Some of her works can be seen also in the Grizedale Forest.
