Grodno Ghetto

Grodno ghetto was a furnished under German occupation ghetto in Grodno ( Grodno Pol. ). The ghettos at the time of National Socialism were part of the system of the German concentration camps.

Since June 1941 Grodno was occupied by the German Wehrmacht, about 50 % of the city buildings were razed to the ground. The Jews of the city were imprisoned from November 1941 in two ghettos - where were deported and killed most - about 15,000 for able-bodied and 10,000 in the ghetto II for handicapped persons in the ghetto I.
