Grognardo ( Gugnèrd Piedmontese ) is a municipality with 294 (as of 31 December 2012) inhabitants in the province of Alessandria (AL ), Region Piedmont. The neighboring municipalities are Acqui Terme, Cavatore, Morbello, Ponzone and Visone.


The municipality covers an area of 9 km ².


In Grognardo vines of Dolcetto Dolcetto d' Acqui for a red wine are grown with DOC status. The berries of the grape varieties Pinot Noir and / or Chardonnay may be processed for sparkling wine Alta Langa. The Muscat grape for the Asti Spumante, a sweet DOCG sparkling wine with a low alcohol content and for still wine Moscato d' Asti is also grown here. The variety Barbera finds its way into the red wine Barbera del Monferrato.
