Two early Christian sarcophagi are at the church cemetery. They were used between the two world wars again as tombs. The present church dates from the years 1914 to 1917 and was built on the basis of an earlier 1576. In addition, the fragments of an early Christian basilica were uncovered from the end of the 5th century for about 200 worshipers. Some floor mosaics have been preserved. The church was destroyed in 1240 by Prince Cres Kacic of Omis and his pirates. During the construction of the new church was found some ancient inscriptions, which are now exhibited in the Archaeological Museum in Split. Bizarre is the plaque of a grieving mother whose son was wounded during feeding of an ox whose horns. In the 16th century lived 400 to 500 people in the village. Today here are reported 400 people.
