Groléjac

Groléjac is a commune with 636 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Dordogne in the Aquitaine region; it belongs to the administrative district of Sarlat -la -Caneda and Canton Domme.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 60 kilometers south-east of Périgueux and 40 km north-west of Cahors on the south bank of the Dordogne River. You already borders on the neighboring department of Lot in the Midi-Pyrénées region. Neighboring municipalities are:

  • Carsac- Aillac in the north,
  • Veyrignac in the east,
  • Saint- Cirq- Madelon in the southeast (department Lot )
  • Nabirat in the south and
  • Domme in the West.

The municipality is bounded on the north by the river Dordogne in principle, only the area around the hamlet of Le Peyron, which lies on the right bank, is an exception to the general northern limit.
