The Gross- Titlis -Schanze is a ski hill in the Swiss community Engelberg Mount Titlis. There are regular competitions instead of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup.

History

The first ski jump in Engelberg, the Sandrain hill, was opened in 1907. After this was no longer appropriate, despite several renovations, began in 1964 with the construction of small -Titlis -Schanze. These already had floodlights and there were several international night jumping instead. After just a few years, this hill could not be more development in the ski jumping meet, was formed in 1971, the new large -Titlis -Schanze. This hill was and still is the largest ski jumping Switzerland. 1984 here the World Team Championship was held. For this purpose a modification of the jump was necessary. Funding by the municipality rejected the citizens from a referendum, so that alone private donors funded the construction. 2001, the hill was rebuilt again to meet the latest requirements profile.
