Gross (unit)

Gros called an old unit of measurement: a counting measure for the design of quantities depending on their number.

The majority [ gʀɔs ] (from French major, from Latin grossus; rare, rather erroneously, even "big" or " large " / gʀɔs / ) is a dozen times a dozen, in individual numbers so twelve times twelve equal to 144 units ( pieces ). It is also called " small bulk " or " large dozen ". A " dimension" is accordingly a dozen Gros, so twelve times twelve times twelve (twelve high 3 ) is equal to 1728 units. It is also referred to as " Large bulk " or " bulk bulk ".

The " great majority " was always the majority of the wholesalers ( wholesalers ), while the " small majority " in the retail trade ( retail) was used (and sometimes still is ). So that's the adopted from the French term commercial wholesale comes (as opposed to en detail - in detail ) for the purchase or delivery of goods in larger quantities.
