Groundskeeping

A groundskeeper is responsible for the proper maintenance and management of premises, in particular sports or leisure facilities.

He is usually employed in a local authority or commissioned by a sports club. A groundskeeper must be familiar with the principles of modern soil and lawn care. The decision to place barriers to conservation and regeneration are also part of his duties as the marking of lines on the sports fields using a chalk car.

In sports with English roots, such as croquet, golf, hockey, polo and Swingolf one uses the anglicism " greenkeeper " in German-speaking countries.
