Groupset

Among components are understood in the bicycle art, in particular all the parts of the circuit and of the brakes on a bicycle. A summary of a complete set of components is also referred to as a group. The group is usually at least the following components:

  • Derailleur
  • Derailleur
  • Cranks
  • Bottom Bracket
  • Chainrings
  • The sprocket assembly
  • Brakes
  • Shift and brake handles (usually as a unit )
  • Hubs

There is no clear definition or delimitation, including which components. Sometimes other parts, such as the chain, the tax rate, Bowden cables, seat post bolt or similar parts are included in the group.

The largest manufacturers of components are Shimano, Campagnolo, SRAM and Falcon. Parts from different manufacturers sometimes do not combine; Parts from the same manufacturer are generally compatible with each other.
