Grover Gibson

Grover Gibson ( born November 18, 1978 in Fairfax, Virginia) is an American football player.

Career

The two-footed midfielder played in the Youth for DC United. During his high school years at the C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Virginia, he played for the Richmond Strikers and the Braddock Road SC, before the age of 17 years after Germany moved to VfB Stuttgart 1997. He also plays for VfB Stuttgart in the A- youth and became South German Champion. He remained at VfB Stuttgart and signed a two -year contract with the second team. There he rose to the second team in the Regionalliga Süd and played another year as a regular player in the regional league.

1999 Gibson left Stuttgart for FC Augsburg. There he was again a regular player at age 20. Despite qualifying for the new two-tier Regionalliga, FC Augsburg filed for bankruptcy. Then he switches to the SV Elversberg. After he had completed 57 Regional games and scored five goals, undertook in 2002 the first second division FSV Mainz 05 the Americans. In Mainz he played a season; by a serious knee injury but he came on only four appearances in the first team and went with the second team in the Regionalliga Süd. Then Grover Gibson returned to the SV Elversberg, whom he left to league rivals SSV Jahn Regensburg in 2004. Until 2006 it held him in Regensburg; during the 2005/ 06 season moved Gibson to Preußen Münster.

For the season 2006/ 07 the Americans moved to Kickers Emden. There he came to eight Regional inserts and scored a goal. His current contract until 2007 was terminated by mutual consent. During the winter break of 2006/ 07 he moved back to Munster and played again for Preußen Münster, where his contract expired in June 2007. August 31, 2007 Gibson was committed Rot Weiss Ahlen. The 2009 expiring contract was not renewed. After the termination of his contract, he finished as a result of orbital injury of his career and went back to the U.S.. In March 2012 he announced his comeback as a gambling endeer assistant coach at the Fredericksburg Hotspur; there he met the former professional footballer, Evans Wise.

Internationally

Gibson is a multiple U -17 and U-20 national team of the United States. He completed 14 games in the second Bundesliga and over 150 Regional Games.

Coaching career

After end of his career and his return to the USA and became youth coach of the Fredericksburg Area Soccer Association ( FASA ). In February 2012, he was playing assistant coach at USL club Fredericksburg Hotspur. Since 2013 he also coached the National Premier Soccer League club FC RVA.

Personal

Since the summer of 2009, he lives in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he heads the The Grover Gibson Soccer Foundation.
