Groz-Beckert

The Groz -Beckert KG is part of the Groz -Beckert Group, headquartered in Albstadt- Ebingen in Baden- Württemberg. Groz -Beckert is the global market leader for industrial machine needles, precision parts and precision tools, and of systems and services for the production and addition of textile fabrics.

The company was founded in 1852 and is still family-owned. Worldwide, the Groz- Beckert company group 31 December 2013 nearly 8000 employees, including 2150 at the headquarters in Albstadt. Groz- Beckert is the largest employer in Zollernalbkreis. In financial year 2013, the group achieved revenues of 568 million euros.

History

1852 Theodor Groz opened a shop for fun and fancy goods with attached Nadler workshop in Ebingen, now a district of Albstadt. In the same year he produced for the first time knitting needles for hosiery. 1871, Ernst Beckert in Eibenberg, near Chemnitz, the same company " Ernst Beckert " for needle production. 1884 shifted Ernst Beckert 's needle factory in Chemnitz.

In 1888 founded Theodor Groz & Sohne a proprietary factory health insurance for employees, the forerunner of today's BKK Groz -Beckert.

In 1937 the two companies merged. Thus, the foundation was laid for the current group. During this time Walther Groz took over the management of the company. Today, in addition to its headquarters in Albstadt other production facilities exist around the world ( Germany, Czech Republic, Portugal, India, China, Vietnam, USA).

The company is since 1996 by Thomas Lindner ( born 1951 ), a descendant of the founder passed. Lindner was 2010-2013 President of the VDMA.

Development

Groz- Beckert is a manufacturer of industrial machine needles and system parts for the mesh, clothing, leather, footwear, felt and carpet industry ( Gauge Parts Tufting ). The Produktprogrammm also offers weaving accessories, such as healds, heald frames, warp stop motions and fins. These products were first sold under the name "coarse by Groz -Beckert ," but now under " Groz -Beckert ." The product range includes now also machines for weaving preparation. With the product range Customized Precision Components (CPC ), formerly Ceramic Punching Components, Groz -Beckert has developed a new application area in the field of precision mechanics. The products are tungsten carbide tools, punches and dies for special machines and micro- precision parts. Since the end of 2006 cylinders and dials for circular knitting machines are produced (formerly SMC). Under the name " SMG " are manufactured and marketed in another line of business plastic ball bearings and components as well as quality products of plastic technology.

The group included the brands "Polar Bear by Groz -Beckert ", " Schmeing ", " Knotex " and " coarse by Groz -Beckert ." These are now under " Groz -Beckert ."

Research and Development

In 2010 the company opened at its headquarters in Albstadt the Technology and Development Centre ( TEZ ). Laboratories, training center, developer offices and seminar rooms and a machinery for all major textile manufacturing processes are concentrated in approximately 25,000 square meters floor area.

Social

In September 2013 opened at the headquarters in Albstadt the health and education center ( GeBIZ ) from Groz -Beckert. In addition to a day care center - the " Kita Male Rock" - and a private elementary school - the " Elementary School Male Rock" - is found in GeBIZ also the " vital center Male Rock" for the employees. It has a prevention and training area with spa and relaxation room attached. In addition, can be found in the vital center of a public physiotherapy practice.
