Grue is a Norwegian municipality in the south of Fylke Hedmark with 4971 inhabitants ( as of March 31, 2013). The seat of government is in Kirkenær.

History

The town has one of the worst fires Church of Norway occurred. On May 26, 1822, the first day of Pentecost, broke into the stave church during worship fire. Since the doors opened inwards only and opening the general flight of all thoughts in panic failed, burned 116 people in wooden religious building. Its doors were aware of closely held because the believers should not enter into the house of God in the company of evil spirits. The pastor Iver Hesselnberg escaped with a few the disaster by jumping out the window.
