Grumo Appula

Grumo Appula is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 12,899 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Bari, in Puglia. The municipality operates since 2005 the title città (city), since 2011 Città Garibaldina. The community is located about 18 kilometers southwest of Bari and about 40 kilometers northwest of Matera.

Traffic

West of the town, the Strada Statale 96 runs from Bari to Altamura direction Potenza. A railway station in Gruma Appula is served by trains on the railway lines Bari - Matera Montalbano Jonico ( non-electrified narrow-gauge railway, 950 mm) and Bari - Taranto.
