Grünsee (Zermatt)

Green Lake is a hamlet and an eponymous lake near Zermatt in the Valais Alps at 2300 m altitude. Green Lake is located on the south side of the Findeltals, the hamlet itself is rather close to the Riffelalp that no longer belongs to Findeltal. The lake is 108 meters long and up to 37 meters wide. Its area is 2000 square well ( 0.2 hectares).

In Grünsee are a small mountain restaurant and some of the cottages. The small hamlet is very remote and only accessible by mountain paths. Findeln - - 2007 chairlift Sunnega was Breitboden created. In winter, over 200 km of trails and slopes are available in the summer mountain biking trails are signposted. The Green Lake is fed by the water of the Findel and can be used for bathing.
