Gruoch of Scotland

Gruoch (* 1015) was the daughter of Bodhe, Prince of Scotland, and granddaughter of Kenneth III .. At the instigation of her father Gruoch was married to Gillacomagnan Earl of Moray. The son of this union, Lulach, followed his stepfather to the throne of Scotland. After 1032 she married Lord Macbeth, who was king of Scotland in 1040.

Shakespeare adapted as Lady Macbeth for his drama Macbeth.
