Gryf Wejherowo

Gryf Wejherowo is a Polish sports club in Wejherowo, who was primarily known for its football department. Bronisław Lorenc, the brothers Jagodziński and Leon Prusinski are considered the founders of the club, which at the time was still called Sokol. After the Second World War, the club was then renamed Gryf Wejherowo. In the interwar period was the then Sokol one of the most important clubs in the region. In the whole of Poland was famous the annual running in the streets of the city, the National Day, May 3, took place at the market place and had its start. Even in boxing, the club mainly thanks to Emil Kuchanowski was known, was the heavyweight champion of the Polish army, and by Kazimierz Switek, of the 1925 Polish champion at lightweight. Hubert Skrzypczak also learned in this club boxing.
